Who we are
This website is run by Grace Impact Global Foundation (“the Foundation”, “we”, “us”), a faith-driven, non-profit organisation at The Prophetic Arena, opposite Prof. JY Ewusie Montessori School, Amasaman Abease, Accra, Ghana.
For the personal information described here, we are the data controller under Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). You can reach us by email at info@graceimpactfoundation.org or by phone on +233 559 393 173.
Information we collect
When you send us a message
The forms on our Contact, Volunteer, Partner and Sponsor a project pages ask for your name, email address, phone number, the reason for your message and the message itself. You can also give the name of your organisation and, when sponsoring, the programme you are interested in. You tick a box to agree that we may contact you about your message.
The website does not keep your message. It is sent straight to the Foundation’s email inbox, and we read and reply from there.
When you call, email or message us on WhatsApp
We receive the details you choose to share, such as your name, phone number and what you tell us. WhatsApp is run by Meta, and its own privacy policy applies to messages sent through it.
When you give
We do not take payments on this website. When you give by MTN Mobile Money or bank transfer, your provider or bank shares the details of the transaction with us, usually your name, the number or account the money came from, the amount and the date. We use them to record and acknowledge your gift. Our Donor Policy explains more.
Technical information
Like every website, ours runs on a server that records basic details of each visit, such as your internet (IP) address, your browser, the page requested and the time. These records are used to keep the website running and secure.
To stop spam, the form keeps a scrambled (hashed) record of the internet address each message came from and when it was sent. The address cannot be read back from it, and it is used only to limit how many messages can be sent in 15 minutes.
Analytics, only if you agree
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (country and city), the type of device and browser, how people found us, and actions such as pressing a call or WhatsApp button or sending a form (but not what the form said). Google Analytics does not record your full internet address. If you decline, or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded at all.
How we use it
We use your information:
- to reply to your message and keep in touch about it;
- to arrange the volunteering, partnership or sponsorship you ask about;
- to record, acknowledge and report on gifts, and to follow any wishes you set for your gift;
- to understand and improve how the website is used, if you accept analytics cookies;
- to keep the website and our records secure, and to meet our legal obligations.
We will not add you to a mailing list or send you newsletters unless you ask us to.
Our reasons for using it
We use your information because you have agreed to it (for example, by ticking the box on our form or accepting analytics cookies), because we need it to do something you have asked us to do, because we have a legitimate interest in running a safe and secure website, or because the law requires it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only:
- with the companies that provide our website hosting and email, which hold it on our behalf;
- with Google, if you accept analytics cookies;
- when the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
Some of these providers may store information outside Ghana. Where they do, we rely on their safeguards for protecting personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep messages for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and anything that follows from it, and then delete them. Records of gifts are kept for as long as financial record-keeping requires. Google Analytics keeps the data it collects for no more than 14 months.
Keeping it safe
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. The form is protected against spam and misuse, and only people who need your information to do their work for the Foundation can see it. No way of sending or storing information is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect yours.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2012 you can:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, or to stop using it;
- withdraw your consent at any time, for example by changing your cookie choice.
To make a request, email info@graceimpactfoundation.org or call +233 559 393 173. We may need to confirm who you are before we act on it. If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana at dataprotection.org.gh.
